FastFrame prefers to use 100% cotton ragmats or buffered lignin-free matboards in all framing. Materials that touch and support the art must be lignin-free. Lesser grades of matboards and mountboards contain lignin. This agent, over time, will damage art and quickly discolor the media touching it. Matboards that contain these contaminants may display a yellow bevel or edge. The quality matboards and mountboards used in Preservation Plus™ framing do not contain these contaminants. |
FastFrame has many colors of matboards in stock for quick turnaround. Most special order mats are received within a week so the average turn around time on most orders is about ten days. |

Mats come in thousands of colors and textures including suede, silk, linen and leather. Stacking mats or adding fillets to a mat can make an ordinary piece extraordinary! |
|
| We also specialize in decorative mat openings, "cut art" and other creative mat designs that set your art apart! |
Beside being an important design element, matting provides necessary air space between your art and the glass. Art should never touch glass! So instead of paying for a glass spacer, add a little zest to your piece and get the protection you need. |
