Design for the piece first. Then address the budget.
You are going to be living with this piece for a long time. Most people will have their art much longer than they keep their car. Make sure the design is one you'll enjoy looking at for years.
What's the style and mood of the surrounding room?
Are your surroundings traditional, modern or in between?
What colors are in your room? Are they bright, neutral or toned down?
Are your furnishings very organic with stone and fabric, or do you have lots of
glass and chrome?
